About the Product
The Lifetime 32 Youth Portable Basketball hoop comes with a telescoping height adjustment mechanism, which allows you to easily adjust the height from 5.5 to 7.5 feet, in 6 inches increments. The benefit is you can adjust the hoop height for your kids as they grow.
The backboard surface is made from high-density polyethylene ( HDPE). This material makes the hoop very durable in all weather conditions; it is completely water-resistant and largely resistant to sun damage. The backboard comes in two colors, red and black.
The Lifetime 32 Youth Portable Basketball hoop has a 15-inch shooting rim with an all-weather nylon net that will give you a perfect ”swish” sound whenever you score.
The base is designed to be very durable and can be filled either with water or sand.

What We Like
The Lifetime 32 Youth Portable Basketball hoop is great for smaller kids that are just being introduced to the game, with a smaller rim and backboard, this will give them a feeling they can score easily. Once more it’s easily adjustable, as they grow.
Once you fill the base, it becomes very stable but it is also very easy to move about on its own wheels. The backboard is very kid-friendly, made from tough plastic, so it doesn’t twist when you shoot but it’s soft enough so that the ball doesn’t rebound hard away.
This hoop is simple to assemble, there are good instructions or you can scan the bar codes and watch the online videos on how to assemble it.
Some users report that they were able to assemble it in an hour and a half. But the average assembly time takes a bit longer. It is much faster if you have somebody to assist you with assembling it.

What We Don’t Like
The hoop is designed for young kids from 3 to 10 years old. The rim is only 15- inches, which makes it more suitable for shooting from close range. While this won’t be a problem in the beginning, when your kids start to imitate Steph Curry, it will become very difficult to score from further away.
Also, as the rim is smaller it is really made for junior size balls. If your kids play with a regulation size ball it will become significantly more difficult to score a basket.
Like most of the portable hoops, this one is also not designed for dunking, as the rim might snap off. You need to explain this to kids, as it’s natural for young kids to try to dunk and hang onto the rim, intimating their favorite basketball players.
Filling the base up with sand does take a long time, and a bigger hole in the base would make the task much easier. Although sand does make the hoop sturdier.
